A Cleaning Company in Swansea is a runner up in the British Franchise Awards
The owner and operator of a contract cleaning franchise in South West Wales has been recognised as the runner-up in the B2B category of the 25th British Franchise Association (bfa) Franchisee of the Year Awards 2014. The nationally recognised industry awards were presented at a glittering ceremony held at Birmingham’s Town Hall, hosted by BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern.
Jayne Gethin, managing director of ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services South West Wales and Swansea, was one of 19 finalists on the night, across six categories and was recognised for her commitment to growing the business from a standing start nine years ago. Jayne commenced trading after leaving a role in the NHS in 2004 and has built a business which employs over 100 staff at its base in Llandarcy, near Neath.
Jayne said: “I am so pleased to be recognised alongside some of the biggest names in business. This is testament to the hard work the team has put in to get us to where we are now and I know this will serve as a real boost to all the staff and help us to grow and develop our business further.”
Alan Lewin, managing director of ServiceMaster Limited added: “Jayne epitomises what a ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services business owner should look like. Her commitment to developing the business, her staff and providing a best in class service to all customers is what ServiceMaster Clean is all about and we couldn’t be prouder of her.”
Commenting on the awards, Brian Smart, director general of the bfa, said: “We’ve now been recognising the country’s most exceptional franchisees for a quarter of a century, and each year the bar is raised higher and higher. It’s fitting that the 25th anniversary of these awards gave us a cross-section of finalists that showcase the inclusivity of the sector for anyone, anywhere aspiring to self-employment, with these 19 outstanding business owners demonstrating the achievements that are possible.”
