Create a schedule
Work and home life can be busy enough as it is but when the children are off it gets a whole lot busier! The best way to get organised and keep on top of your cleaning is to create a schedule. This way you can manage your cleaning tasks without feeling like you’re spending a huge chunk of your day doing so.
Get the children involved
As we all know, children have a lot of energy so why not channel that energy into something positive such as cleaning. Ensure they are keeping their own rooms tidy at all times and get them to help out with other easier tasks such as washing up and laundry. You can even use a reward chart to keep them incentivised and earn their treats during the summer holidays.
Make things simple
Things don’t always need to be elaborate, especially in the summer holidays. You need time to relax and unwind so try to make some things simpler for everyone. For example, use disposable plates and cutlery when the children have friends over, eat outside when the weather is good etc.
